Enerjuvate - She is Key

Food is an ingredient that binds people from different cultures and backgrounds together. With Instagram, uploading delightful food snaps and healthy living have become an integral part of our lives. I was a victim to that as well and started to search for restaurants that serve healthy food and thus found my way to Enerjuvate. Initially going there for some good snaps on social media, I ended up admiring the eatery that has a boutique and a yoga studio as well!

The eatery which derives its name from a combination of Energy and Rejuvenate, was established by cousins, Darshana Nahata and Sunayana Hiran in 2017.  Enerjuvate has two outlets, one located in Bengaluru’s biggest suburb – Jayanagar and another in Koramangala. The cousins firmly advocate that ‘Healthy Is The New Happy’.

The inspiration to start a space of this kind came from my husband, who in fact was overweight. Through yoga, my husband lost about 35 kilos and then it struck me. Why not have a space that promotes healthy living and nutrition at the same time! “ recalls Sunayana.

Their menu includes extremely healthy and equally fancy dishes that cover many types of cuisines. Their menu is free from maida, fried items, white sugar or preservatives of any sort. Instead they opt for freshest seasonal ingredients, alternate grains and sweeteners. Their stellar dishes include ‘B4 Blast’ that consists of Banana-berries-basil-beetroot, ‘Go red’ that is a mix of beet-pineapple-carrot juice and ‘Go green’ that combines mint-cucumber-amla-apple juice. They also serve pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, desserts, chai’s but all of them come with a healthy twist.

We want to overload all our customers senses and by that the visual appeal, the aroma, the taste as well as the benefits of healthy eating. My partner Dashana is an artist by profession so ‘art on a plate’ is the idea – so to speak.” say the co-founders.

The yoga studio offers a variety of yoga practices that include Power yoga and Aerial yoga. Aerial yoga which is very visually appealing is sought after by many people. Rejuvenate happens to be one among the only five centers in India that teach this complicated yoga form. Modern practices like Zumba and also traditional martial art forms like Kalaripayattu are also taught at this place.

Customers here book group sessions in advance to experience the feeling of being one with the body and connecting with it, while at the same time also eat to their heart’s content” says Sunayana.

The boutique offers a mix of products like rare hand-crafted curios, hand-woven clothes and other accessories that are sourced from various NGOs in and around India.

The whole idea is to open the minds of people to different experiences and promote a lifestyle different that what people are used to. Well not all of them are open to it. Some of them need to be coaxed and pushed just a bit.” says Darshana.

The studio attached to the café is also a popular zone, and organizes events by artists, leadership coaches, stand-up comedians, and holds workshops by chefs and home cooks, and theatre professionals. Darshana and Sunayana also conduct workshops on mindful eating for companies like H&M, Titan, WeWork, Folio, Tata Coffee, Yahoo and BMC Software. Recently they have ventured into themed outdoor catering and also accept customised orders.

The ladies have managed to incur a revenue of over Rs 2 crore in just two years since their opening. Coming to the future of the business, the cousins are looking forward to expand across India through partnerships.

So if you stop by Bangalore anytime make sure you pay a visit to this lush green eatery that is sure to soothe your gut, mind and body, with special mention to the cool Instagram pictures you’re gonna get here!
