When asked about the secret of success, Barb says that learning from one’s failure is an essential part of success. The reluctance to learn from others can result in constant failure, she says.
“The world is full of people who stuff up daily and don’t own it. When you own it, you can learn from it. It is tough, when you have to stand in front of your staff or in the mirror and you go, like ‘yep, that was me … I stuffed this up because I didn’t trust somebody or I trusted the wrong person,‘ ” she explained.
Barb believes that the sooner you own up your mistakes, the better.
“I went through a period of a few years when I didn’t listen to people, and it was probably one of the biggest failures I’ve ever had as a human being, not only as a business owner. You surround yourself then with people which actually don’t help you to be the best version of you and this is what you need to do,” she adds.
