Live Better With- making the lives of people with various health conditions.

We all are aware about the difficulties cancer patients go through during the treatment. But only few know the struggles with which the survivors navigate their lives after therapy. Witnessing the hardships cancer patients go through after observing her grandparents, Rajah started ‘Live Better With’, an online shop for cancer patients based in UK.

If you’ve got a long-term condition, the medical side of things is pretty well covered, but for people with long-term conditions it’s kind of just accepted you’re going to feel bad,” says British entrepreneur Tamara Rajah.

The store provides solutions in the form of products that make life easier for recovering patients and survivors.

The business aids 45,000 people throughout the globe. Live Better With raised $7 million from investors including Downing Ventures, Forward Partners and dmg ventures (the Daily Mail’s investment arm), bringing its total funding to $11 million currently.

We want long-term patients to feel relief, to know there’s something that can help, even it’s as simple as buying a hat that’s soft, breathable and antimicrobial, without seams in places that will hurt your sore scalp,” says Rajah.

Rajah’s inspiration to launch Live Better With, was her time at McKinsey & Company as a partner. She realized how neglected was the everyday life of healthcare. And even though she met some patients who knew which products could help them, they were still clueless about where they could buy those products.

She wanted Live Better With to be patient centered rather than focusing on the brand. A patient can pick products based on how they feel. If they can’t sleep or feel sick or got mouth troubles, you give them the suitable product based on their concern.

The online shop was initially launched with just 350 products and now sells over 2,000 items ranging from moisturizing creams to cookbooks and mastectomy bras.

Wearable devices that provide pain relief through stimulation of nerves and are devoid of any drugs are one of their products. These devices are abundant and ‘Quell’ is the most popular one which is now available with 5x more power for better results. The device can also be regulated depending on the pain experienced and comfort levels.

They also have a set of mobility products to address motion impairments. They include forks and knives that help counter and stabilise hand and arm tremors making eating and drinking by themselves possible. Their smart pillboxes powered by AI remind you to take your medication and also alert you if you’re double dosing or leaving your home without taking medication.

Last year Rajah has launched UK’s first store to cater to the needs of cancer patients in London at Guy’s Hospital. Also, she initiated the world’s first global cancer support map (showing all of the services that might be relevant near your postcode). Recently, she also launched Live Better With Menopause which helps women deal with symptoms like hot flushes, low libido, brittle hair and nails.

Rajah’s ultimate goal is to help patients suffering from different types of conditions like autism, ADHD, diabetes or arthritis.
