Ritika Jayaswal worked for her family business for five years after completing her MBA. But her true passion has always been the Fashion and Consumer goods sector. She decided to go to New York and study Fashion Marketing at Parsons School of Design. To gain relative industry experience, she worked in the city for a few years in the apparel and personal care sectors.
Living the life of a New Yorker can be interesting but not so easy. Balancing life and work at the same time can be tiring sometimes. Eventually, health, nutrition and mental health took a backseat. Drowning in anxiety and stress, she discovered Vipassana, a self- exploratory and observation – based technique of meditation that helps reconnecting the body, mind and the soul together.
While practising this, she realized how her physical health is connected to her inner state of mind. The practice definitely helped her in developing a deep interest in holistic wellness. She started researching how much of the beauty industry really accounts for inner wellness.
Ritika returned to India and under the guidance of Baba, her grandfather she started travelling across India to locate pure and exotic ingredients for a year and found a practitioner to create the recipes. And at the end of 2019, she launched Nourish Mantra in the US. She felt a need to bridge the gap between ancient Indian wisdom and Modern science.
After the US launch, Nourish Mantra products received a positive response.
Ritika says, “Very early on, our brand was mentioned by Allure in their article that talked about trends that will go big. More recently, our Vedic Elixir Facial Oil has been selected as a Finalist in the Pure Beauty Global Awards 2020 in the Best New Premium Skin Care category. It was recently featured by Destination Luxury as a must-have beauty ritual at home.”
Ritika believes the approach to recreate ayurvedic formulations and make them relevant in our everyday life are two factors that differentiate Nourish Mantra from other skincare brands.
“Five thousand years ago, the skin did not have to face so much pollution, stress, screen time etc, which it does today. Hence, there was a need to back the ancient system with modern science. Our products are mindfully created using a mix of traditional ingredients with modern supplements like Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide etc. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced by your body and Niacinamide is Vitamin B3, so our products give you what your skin needs in today’s times,” Ritika says.
In this recent Covid – 19 crisis, Ritika has already committed to donating 20% of Nourish Mantra’s online proceeds to a community kitchen in New Delhi that is distributing 1,000 meals per day. And this sweet gesture of Ritika and Nourish Mantra has to be certainly appreciated. In this worldwide pandemic they are doing their part to help the needy.
In the near future Ritika wants to make Nourish Mantra an overall wellness brand. As Ritika says, “Our plan is to educate and spread awareness of Ayurveda in the US along with providing high quality products that deliver the exoticism of India to the world. These awesome India manufactured products are now available on the website of Nourish Mantra that is nourishmantra.com and once the lockdown is lifted it will be launched on Nykaa”
So I am definitely getting myself some of Nourish Mantra. What are you waiting for? Don’t let this lockdown stop you from taking care of your skin. A happy mind and glowing skin are important when it comes to gleaming confidence. So go ahead and grab some products from NM right away!
